Jotlift

How Jotlift works

What each part does, and what to expect from it. Sections marked Pro need a subscription.

Logging a workout

Pick an exercise and log your sets as you go. The weight and reps start where you left them last time on that exercise, so a repeat workout is mostly tapping through. Change anything you like. Jotlift always defers to what you actually logged.

Exercises that use no weight, like pull-ups, record reps on their own. If you add weight to them, you can log that per set.

Auto-progression Pro

Do three workouts at the same weight, mostly hitting the same reps, and Jotlift suggests going up. That is the whole rule. There is nothing to set up and nothing to choose.

The suggestion appears as a line under the logger, naming the weight it has in mind and the three workouts it counted. It never changes the number in the box, and it never asks you to go down.

A lighter workout does not count towards the three, and does not reset them either. So a bad day costs you nothing.

On an exercise you do not load, like pull-ups, it offers added weight instead. Where there is weight on the bar but no step to take, it asks for a rep. Turn a suggestion down and it goes quiet, then asks again after another three.

Trends Pro

Trends reads what you have logged and projects it forward at the pace you have actually been moving, not a pace it invents for you. If there is not enough history to say, it tells you that instead of guessing. It would rather understate than overstate.

Routines Pro

Build a routine once and start it whenever. The exercises come up in the order you set.

Backing up, and moving to a new phone

Without an account, your log lives only on your phone. Open Settings, go to Your data, and use Export your data to keep your own copy, or Move to a new device to hand it to a new phone directly.

With an account, your log is backed up as you use the app. Sign in on the new phone and it comes back. Restoring is free, and stays free whether or not you subscribe.

What is free, and what is Pro

Free covers the logger itself: unlimited workouts, unlimited history, export, and, with an account, backup and restore.

Jotlift Pro adds auto-progression, Trends, routines, and live sync across your devices. If you cancel, your data stays, and you can restore or export it at any time.
